【摘要】:Theprincipleofthemethodspecifiediscollectingasamplebydrawingameasuredquantityofairthroughamembranefilterbymeansofabattery-poweredsamplingpump,transformingthefilterfromanopaquemembraneintoahomogeneousopticallytransparentspecimen,sizingandcountingthefibresusingaphasecontrastmicroscope.Theresultsareexpressedasfibrespercubiccentimetreofair,calculatedfromthenumberoffibresonthefilterandthemeasuredvolumeofairsampled.Limitationsofthemethodarestated.
