【摘要】:Dryelectrostaticheat-fixingtonersmaybecomposedofpolymerbinders,blackpigments,andothersuchadditivesthatarenecessaryfortheproperperformancefortheuseintended,particularlyinthosecopiersusingheat-fusingtechniquesforimagefixing.Tonerscharacteristicallydonothaveasharpmeltingpointbutinsteadexhibitabroadtemperaturerangeofmelting.Theusershouldbeawarethatthefusionpointisoneofseveralphysicalcharacteristicsofcertainheat-fixingtoners.Similarfusiontemperatureresultsobtainedthroughthispracticeontwodifferenttoners(betweenlotsorfromonemanufacturertoanother)shouldnotbeconsideredaguaranteeofequalperformancecharacteristicswhensubsequentlyutilizedinacopier.1.1Thispracticecoversaprocedurethatisusedtodeterminethefusiontemperatureofdryelectrostaticheat-fixingtonersusingamicrohotstage.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SeeSectionforspecificprecautionarystatements.
